Custom Load Testing Solutions

Every test program has a different constraint — available floor space, exhaust routing, frequency, step resolution or the control system the load has to answer to. Below is how we configure equipment for the five programs we are asked about most. If yours differs, the specification conversation is the starting point either way.

01

Data Center Commissioning

UPS strings, generators and switchgear have to be proven at full load, at Level 4/5 integrated system testing, before IT load arrives.

Configuration

Container-type or multiple air-cooled units for the generator and utility side, plus rack-mount loads (air-cooled 10–22kW, liquid-cooled 10–40kW, 3U–6U) inside the white space for per-rack and per-PDU verification. Units daisy-chain under one control point so a whole step profile runs from a single operator station.

02

Marine and Naval Programs

Shipboard generators, shore-supply connections and emergency sets need dockside and sea-trial testing where footprint and exhaust routing are tightly constrained.

Configuration

Air-liquid hybrid 144kW/48U cabinets and liquid-cooled 3M8000 units move the heat into a water or glycol loop instead of the compartment, keeping noise and discharge-air temperature low. Portable 50kW/120kW boxes with quick-connect interfaces cover single-person on-board checks.

03

New Energy and Energy Storage

Inverters, PCS and battery containers need long-duration, repeatable load profiles with tight power stability for efficiency and cycling tests.

Configuration

Liquid-cooled 3M8000 loads with ≤1% temperature drift hold the setpoint through long runs, with DC and AC voltage options and Modbus TCP/RTU control so the load follows your test sequencer rather than a manual dial.

04

Generator Factory Acceptance Testing

Production test bays need high duty-cycle loads with fine step resolution and leading/lagging power factor to run full FAT schedules every day.

Configuration

Air-cooled 1–1000kW banks with 25/50/75/100% coarse steps plus fine adjustment, adjustable power factor, integrated V/A/kW/kVAr/PF/Hz/kWh metering, and load-step retention with auto-resume on power restoration so an interruption does not void the run.

05

Aerospace Ground Power

400Hz ground-power carts, APUs and avionics benches need loads matched to non-standard frequency and voltage, in limited hangar space.

Configuration

Custom-wound elements for the required frequency and voltage, in rack-mount or compact cabinet formats, with metering and protocol integration into existing test rigs.

From Specification to Commissioning

  1. Step 1

    Specification

Rated power, voltage, frequency, step pattern, power factor, control protocol, ambient temperature and site access.

  2. Step 2

    Engineering

Configuration drawing, cooling and exhaust calculation, cable and connection sizing, control and metering scope.

  3. Step 3

    Manufacture and Test

Build, burn-in and run at rated load; step accuracy, noise, exhaust temperature and metering recorded on a test report.

  4. Step 4

    Delivery and Commissioning

Crating for the shipping mode, on-site connection guidance and protocol integration support with your commissioning team.
